While mastering a subject, students are tasked with a myriad of real-world challenges that enable them to learn new skills in collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. These skills also correlate with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies and traits identified as 21st-century Skills.
These skills are essential to excel outside of the classroom.
Attributes are soft skills that improve social and emotional learning.

Most courses include opportunities for students to earn digital badges that recognize the knowledge, skills, and attributes developed throughout the course. AP, world language, and music courses do not include KSA-based components.
How students earn credentials
To earn credentials, students complete assignments as part of their regular coursework.
For example, in the 9th-Grade World Geography course, students can earn the Respect attribute and Communications skill by presenting to a family member something they admire about another culture.
College and Career Readiness
Skills and attribute credentials offer tangible evidence of capabilities to colleges and employers. These credentials set our students apart from other applicants by showing they have successfully mastered desirable skills that benefit the organization.
