Each 0.5 credit hour (one semester) course is designed to be completed in approximately 80–90 hours of study with a typical semester running 16–18 weeks as illustrated below:

Yes, we are accredited by Cognia and the Middle States Association Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS). Many BYU OHS courses are also approved by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

There is currently no direct correlation, but our school counselor can help students apply.
BYU OHS accepts transfer credits earned or grade placement from institutions that are accredited by recognized national, regional, or state accrediting agencies. Students must complete a minimum of 25% of their credits through BYU Online High School to earn a BYU OHS diploma. These credits may be split between the junior and senior year. Students must be enrolled in the semester in which they intend to graduate.
No. Our online high school courses are secular in nature and open to everyone.
Both Semester and Flex students are considered full-time students of BYU Online High School. A local school would need to approve participation in activities at that school.
Tuition for the 2024-2025 school year is $2,010 per semester ($4,020 per school year) for the Standard Diploma Track and $2,345 per semester ($4,690 per school year) for the Advanced Diploma Track. At this time scholarships are not available; however, you may apply for Financial Aid.
Yes. Concurrent enrollment courses are offered through BYU Online High School.
Semester students are encouraged to stay on pace with their class; however, taking additional courses could result in early graduation.
No. Students can:
Students complete six to seven courses during each of the two semesters that comprise a school year. Students will need to create and follow a schedule to make sure all lessons and assignments are completed on time and that the course is completed before the end of the semester. Each semester is 16 weeks long plus finals week. When making a schedule consider that students are expected to attend scheduled virtual live instructions (VLIs), correspond with administrators and teachers, and participate in school activities unless pre-approved alternative arrangements are made.

BYU OHS wants to offer our exceptional educational experiences to qualified students regardless of their financial circumstances. Financial assistance is available only to full-time students regardless of a student’s country of residence and financial assistance applications are evaluated independently of admission applications.
Financial assistance is applied towards the cost of tuition. We do not provide financial aid or loans for computers or other school-related materials.
